Keyword Clustering

What Is Keyword Clustering?

Keyword clustering groups related search terms with overlapping or identical search intent, so a single page can be built to target the whole group rather than creating a separate page for each individual keyword.

How to Build Clusters

Clustering typically starts by checking which pages currently rank for each keyword — terms where Google shows largely the same set of results are strong candidates to be grouped and targeted together on one page, since Google itself is treating them as effectively the same query.

Why It Helps SEO

Clustering prevents keyword cannibalization (multiple thin pages competing for near-identical terms) and results in fewer, more comprehensive pages that thoroughly cover a topic — which tends to perform better than a scattering of thin pages each chasing one narrow keyword variation.
