What Is an Entry Page?
An entry page is the first page a visitor lands on during a single session on your website — whether that’s your homepage, a blog post, or a product page they arrived at from a Google search or an ad.
Entry Page vs Landing Page
The two terms get used interchangeably, but they’re not quite the same thing. A landing page is deliberately designed as an entry point for a specific campaign or offer, usually with a single conversion goal. An entry page is simply whichever page a visitor happens to enter through — it might be a dedicated landing page, or it might be a random blog post someone clicked from search.
How It’s Tracked in Google Analytics
In GA4, entry pages are tracked as part of session data — every session has exactly one entry page, the first page viewed. Reviewing your top entry pages shows you which content or pages are actually pulling people into your site, which is useful for spotting your best-performing organic content or identifying pages that need a stronger first impression to stop people bouncing straight back out.
