What Is Link Juice?
Link juice is the informal term for link equity — the ranking value passed from one page to another through a hyperlink.
How It Flows Between Pages
When a page links out, it passes on some portion of its own authority to the linked page. The amount passed depends on the linking page’s own authority, how many total links are on that page (juice divides among them), whether the link is dofollow, and how topically relevant the two pages are to each other.
What Affects How Much Gets Passed
A link from a single highly authoritative, closely relevant page typically passes more value than many links from weak or unrelated pages. This is the core logic behind prioritising link quality over raw quantity in both external link building and internal linking strategy.
