AI Search Visibility

What Is AI Search Visibility?

AI search visibility is the umbrella term for how present and accurately represented your brand is across AI-powered search and answer tools — AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot — as opposed to visibility in traditional organic search results.

How It’s Measured

Because AI-generated answers aren’t static rankings, visibility is typically measured by running a consistent set of relevant prompts across platforms over time and tracking how often, how prominently, and how accurately a brand is mentioned or cited — closer to a sampling and monitoring exercise than the more precise position tracking used in traditional rank tracking.

Why It Matters

With a meaningful and growing share of Australian searches now resolved through an AI Overview or AI chat tool without a click to any website, AI search visibility captures a form of brand exposure and trust-building that traditional keyword rank tracking simply doesn’t see — making it an increasingly important complement to, not a replacement for, standard SEO reporting.
