The Challenge
Link Signs does great work, but online they were almost invisible. In May 2026, the site ranked for only around 25 keywords. Most of those were low-intent or branded terms, and they brought in very little qualified traffic.
The signage and vehicle wrap market is crowded. Larger, well-funded competitors held the top spots for the searches that bring in real work. The searches that mattered most included vehicle wraps, fleet branding, shopfront signage, and custom signs. Linksigns relied mostly on referrals and repeat clients. Organic search wasn’t bringing in new business in any meaningful way.
The goal: build a dependable source of leads from organic search, with the focus on the high-value commercial jobs that grow the business, not just more traffic.
Our Approach
1. Technical foundations: We audited the site and fixed the problems holding it back: crawl and indexing issues, site speed, mobile usability and site structure. This gave Google a clean, fast website it could trust.
2. Service pages built around buyer intent. We mapped the searches potential customers actually use when they’re ready to buy. Then we built or rebuilt dedicated service pages for each one: vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, shopfront and building signage, and more. Each page was written to rank and to convert, with clear calls to action and proof of work.
3. Local SEO: We optimised the Google Business Profile, made sure business details were consistent across directories, and strengthened location signals. This put Linksigns in front of local businesses searching nearby.
4. Authority and content: We kept publishing helpful, relevant content and built authority signals so Google would see Linksigns as a credible competitor to the established players.
The Results
From 25 keywords to 150+ in under 6 months
Growth was steady and compounding. Rankings started to build through June. They stepped up sharply in July and again in August as the new service pages took hold. By September, Linksigns was ranking for more than 150 keywords, roughly six times where it started.
Most importantly, the growth held up through several Google algorithm updates during the campaign. That’s evidence of solid, sustainable SEO rather than short-term tricks.
Competing with the big players
Linksigns now holds 8% of search visibility across a tracked set of high-value industry keywords. It sits alongside competitors that have been building their online presence for years. Starting from near zero, that kind of shift usually takes much longer than six months.
More leads, and better ones
More rankings only matter if they bring in work. Because the campaign targeted commercial, ready-to-buy searches, the enquiries coming through are higher value:
- More enquiries for larger, higher-margin projects such as fleet wraps and commercial signage
- Less reliance on referrals alone, with organic search now a consistent, predictable lead channel
The Takeaway
Link Signs shows what a focused SEO strategy can do for a trade business in a competitive market. Building around buyer intent, rather than chasing vanity traffic, turned a near-invisible website into a reliable source of high-value leads in under six months.
